A Safe Space For You
In a world that often tells us who we should be, this is a space where you can embrace who you truly are.

Hi there, my name’s Dominic (he/him). I’m a cis-white gay male therapist.
The journey of being LGBTQ+ can be complicated, with the struggles of self-identity adding extra layers to life’s challenges. Having an LGBTQ+ therapist means you don’t have to spend energy explaining your queerness or educating your therapist about your experience.
I bring an open, non-judgmental perspective to my practice, grounded in understanding and respect for diverse experiences around sex, gender, and non-normative lifestyles.
My approach is to support you in navigating your world with a deep understanding of your identity, so you can focus on healing and growth.

Issues That Challenge Our Queer Experience
Pride
As LGBTQ+ people we often feel rushed into feeling Pride. But attaining authentic pride in yourself isn't something that happens overnight—it's a journey, and it can be difficult.
Pride isn't like a sticker you get after a visit to the dentist; it’s earned through deep self-understanding and self-acceptance. With my experience supporting the LGBTQ community, I’m here to walk with you as you navigate this path

Identity
Having a sense of identity is crucial to your feelings of self worth. Whether you're exploring your sexuality, gender identity, ethnicity, culture, or the intersectionality between these, the process of self-discovery is vital. Working with someone who understands these complexities can provide the support needed to explore and embrace your true self.

Family & Relationships
As LGBTQ+ people, we often face complex family dynamics, from dealing with rejection to trying to maintain relationships despite differences. These dynamics often impact relationships outside of the family.
Therapy can help navigate these challenges, create understanding, heal wounds, and foster healthy, supportive connections.

Mental Health
As LGBTQ+ people, we often face higher rates of mental health challenges due to societal pressures, discrimination, and internalised shame. Prioritising self-care and mental health is essential for maintaining resilience and well-being in the face of these challenges.
Therapy offers a space to talk about these challenges, easing distress, and offering support so you can live a happier life.

Social Isolation
It is not uncommon for LGBTQ+ people to experience feeling disconnected or isolated, whether from family, community, or even within LGBTQ+ spaces. This is often due to stigma, judgment, or a lack of access to supportive environments.
Therapy can help you find your way through these feelings, promote self worth, and build your sense of identity to find your relationship to belonging and carve a path into connection that suits your needs.

Other topics you may want to explore in therapy - related to your LGBTQ+ identity
Identity and self-acceptance such as sexual identity exploration, internalised homophobia or transphobia, low self-esteem, body image, self-acceptance, navigating internal conflict between personal desires and societal expectations, and intersectionality.
Sexuality and relationships may involve discussing fetishes, kinks, chem sex, polyamory, relationship dynamics, abusive relationships, bullying, family trauma or rejection, coming out, and creating a chosen family.
Mental health and well-being concerns can include struggles with anxiety, depression, addiction (substance abuse, food disorders, pornography, chem sex, and sexual addiction), self-harm, grief, social isolation, feelings of inadequacy, fear of rejection, and navigating the workplace.
Social media and online experiences can bring up challenges like online validation, comparison, cyberbullying, or difficulty with online identity.
Sexual health and safety concerns may cover sexual health, safer sex practices, and healing from sexual trauma. You might also wish to process school and early experiences, such as bullying, lack of support, and difficult childhood or family dynamics.
Trauma and discrimination may be an important area to address, including past experiences of abuse, neglect, and societal or familial rejection.
